The Junior Economic Analyst position is a team-based role to support Career Management Services’ management team and the consultants working with diverse clients across Australia. The primary focus of this position will be to undertake research and compile information/data for weekly economic client reports. This may include market research, preparation of reports, other documents and other general duties as required. You may be required to assist in developing and providing market data reports and providing customer analytics, to highlight useful information and support decision making by the key management team.
Responsibilities may include:
Research and compilation of qualitative and quantitative data for our client reports.
Gathering and interpreting information from a wide variety of sources
Reporting – Generating written reports with data that may relate to job markets, unemployment and labour market analysis, economic forecasts and impacts.
Producing regular qualitative reports for senior management in client organisations
Focussed on client needs, the role may include a broad range of research and analytical reporting
The ideal candidate would be an economics/business/journalism student in there third year/honors or similar with a strong understanding of economics and labour market issues, reliable and capable to deliver to set deadlines. You will help deliver a high quality and customer focused reporting, analysis and intelligence capability. You are looking for an opportunity to get industry experience and be able to apply your research/writing skills in a supportive, flexible professional environment.
To be successful in this role you will be expected to have an advanced level of written and verbal communication skills. You will ideally possess the ability to prepare clear, succinct and engaging material for a professional business audience. You will be a team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude and well developed interpersonal skills, who is willing to share their knowledge, and has the ability to work autonomously. Self-motivated, organised, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, be methodical and have an accurate approach to work and an ability to deliver to deadlines.
The casual role will satisfy self-sourced internships/WIL requirements.
